Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I get started?

Start with a free 20-minute discovery call. It’s not a sales pitch, and there’s no commitment on your end. We talk through what’s been going on, what you’ve already tried, and whether Wellness Continuum is the right fit for where you are right now. If it is, we talk about what the next step looks like. Book directly online. No referral needed. Book your call below.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required.

What happens on the discovery call?

It’s a 20-minute conversation. It’s free, low-pressure, and focused on one question: Are we the right fit for each other? We talk through your history, what hasn’t worked, and the level of support that makes sense for where you are now. From there, I’ll walk you through what working together would look like.

Do I need to be in Maryland?

Yes. Wellness Continuum is currently licensed to provide patient care in Maryland. All care is delivered virtually, so you can participate from anywhere in the state. If you’re outside Maryland, reach out via the Contact page, and you’ll be notified when licensing expands to your state.

Do you work with men?

Wellness Continuum is built around an experience I see constantly and rarely see addressed well: the fatigue, hormonal chaos, and "your labs are normal" dismissal that hits women especially hard in their 40s and 50s. That said, the same standard of care, real testing, real time, and someone actually paying attention applies just as well to men. If that sounds like what you're looking for, I'd love to talk on a discovery call.

About the Practice

How is this different from my primary care doctor?

Primary care is designed to identify and manage disease. If your labs show something wrong, the system knows what to do with you. Functional medicine asks a different question: why is this happening? Most patients who come to Wellness Continuum have already been told their labs are “normal.” That’s where the conversation here begins, not ends. I look at the full picture, hormones, gut health, inflammation, stress response, thyroid, nutrient status, and how these systems talk to each other.

Do I still need a primary care provider?

Yes. An active relationship with a primary care provider is required to work with Wellness Continuum. This practice complements your existing care; it does not replace it. I share your progress with your primary care provider to ensure your care is coordinated, not fragmented.

Will you change my medications?

No, I do not alter existing prescriptions for blood pressure, cholesterol, or other chronic conditions. As your health picture changes over time, I can recommend adjustments to your primary care provider. However, all prescribing decisions remain with your current providers.

Do you manage emergencies or acute illness?

No. Wellness Continuum is not an urgent care or emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. For acute illnesses, please contact your primary care provider or visit the nearest urgent care center.

Is everything virtual?

Yes. All care at Wellness Continuum is delivered virtually. You can access the full scope of functional medicine care from wherever you are in Maryland. No commute, no waiting room, no need to rearrange your day. Evening and weekend appointments are available.

Programs and Investment

Do you accept insurance?

No. Wellness Continuum is a cash-pay practice. Functional medicine programs and specialty lab testing are not covered by conventional insurance. It’s worth noting that lab costs are included in the Transformation Track and Continuum Journey programs, and the Foundation Framework includes a comprehensive baseline lab panel, so the investment covers more than the visits alone. Many clients use HSA or FSA funds toward their investment. Upon request, I am happy to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company to seek reimbursement. I do not work directly with insurance companies.

Do you accept Medicare and Medicare Advantage Beneficaries?

Not yet. If you're a Medicare or Medicare Advantage beneficiary, we hope to see you in the future. Check back or join our waitlist to know when that changes.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Wellness Continuum accepts payment plans, so cost doesn’t have to be the barrier between you and feeling well. Payment plans let you start your program now and pay over time. Details are available during your discovery call.

How do I know which program is right for me?

You don’t have to figure that out before you call. That’s exactly what the

discovery call is for. During our 20-minute conversation, we talk through your health history, what you’ve already tried, and what you’re trying to get back. From there, I’ll tell you honestly what level of support I think makes sense for where you are — whether that’s starting with a clarity session first or moving directly into a full program. Some women come in knowing they’re ready to commit. Others need a clearer picture of their health before they can make that decision. Both are completely valid starting points. What matters is that we get it right for you.

Can I apply a session fee toward a program?

Yes. The Lab Insight Session and Foundation Framework fees can each be applied toward a higher-level program within 30 days of your session. This credit is not open-ended; it is intended for patients who are ready to commit to their journey back to wellness.

How long does it take to see results?

Most patients notice meaningful changes within the first few weeks of their program. Real transformation takes longer, which is exactly why the programs are structured the way they are. The support, the sequencing, and the team around you make change possible and sustainable. Patients find they feel better during their program and feel their best when they continue the work after it ends. That’s not an accident. It’s the design. The follow-on options exist because the work doesn’t stop when the program does, and neither should the results.

Do you offer any discounts?

Wellness Continuum is proud to honor those who have served. Active-duty military and veterans receive a 10% discount on all programs and a 20% discount on supplements. Please mention your status when booking your discovery call.

Labs and Testing

What kind of labs do you order?

The labs I order depend entirely on your specific picture — your history, symptoms, and what I’m looking for. I don’t run the same panel on everyone. Depending on your program, labs may include comprehensive thyroid panels, hormone testing, gut microbiome analysis, cortisol mapping, nutrient status, inflammatory markers, and metabolic panels that go well beyond a standard annual bloodwork order.

Are labs covered by insurance?

Some standard labs may be covered under your plan. Specialty functional medicine testing is typically not covered by insurance. Lab costs are included in the Transformation Track and Continuum Journey programs. The Foundation Framework includes a comprehensive baseline lab panel. For the Lab Insight Session, you bring labs you already have. No new labs are ordered. Upon request, I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement.

I already have lab results. Can you review them?

Yes. The Lab Insight Session is built exactly for that. It’s a 60-minute visit dedicated entirely to reviewing your existing lab work; what the results are actually showing, where the patterns are, and whether a deeper investigation is warranted. Labs must be dated within the last 12 months to be eligible for this session. No new labs are ordered.

The Continuum Method™

What is The Continuum Method™?

The Continuum Method™ is the proprietary framework behind all care at Wellness Continuum. It moves through four stages: Clarity, Capacity, Partnership, and Continue. These stages are built on one core truth: clarity must come before capacity, and capacity before any change that actually holds. It is not a one-size-fits-all protocol. It is built around you.

What are the Four Pillars?

The Four Pillars are the values that anchor every program: Physiology first, Validation as medicine, Bandwidth restoration, and Root-cause personalized care. They reflect the belief that your body isn’t malfunctioning; it’s communicating. People heal when they feel seen, not just managed.

What does “Validation as medicine” mean?

Being genuinely believed after years of dismissal is itself part of the treatment. When a patient finally hears “you’re not imagining this, here’s what’s actually happening,” something shifts. The psychological weight of self-doubt has compounded the physical symptoms for years. Removing it is part of the work. Validation isn’t a soft concept here. It’s clinical.
